About the role:

As Head of Accounting for our Shared Service Center in the Dominican Republic, your main mission will be to plan, coordinate, and monitor the accounting function across all assigned hotels and entities in the region. You will ensure the consistent application of accounting policies and procedures, and guarantee the quality of financial reporting. Your leadership will be key to driving operational excellence, supporting strategic decisions, and maintaining compliance within a dynamic hospitality environment.

What will your key responsibilities be?

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise the annual accounting needs for all assigned hotels and entities.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
  • Implement and monitor accounting policies, procedures, ensuring standardization.
  • Coordinate process improvements and automation in collaboration with IT and finance teams.
  • Supervise and validate accounting data used in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate bank reconciliations and proper recording of financial transactions.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring traceability and accuracy.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to accounting, compliance, and internal controls.
  • Lead the integration of accounting functions for new entities, hotels, or acquisitions.
  • Monitor and report KPIs specific to the SSC accounting function.
  • Stay updated on regional accounting regulations, including intercompany transactions.
  • Collaborate with the tax department on optimization processes.
  • Support team development, workload distribution, and motivation, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Ensure the team has updated information on services and facilities.
  • Evaluate team performance and communicate work-related issues.
  • Prepare schedules, plan vacations and absences to optimize department coverage.
  • Lead departmental meetings as required.
  • Act in the company’s best interest, ensuring alignment with values, objectives, and internal policies.

What are we looking for?

  • University degree in Economics, Business Administration, or similar. Postgraduate studies in accounting for tourism companies are a plus.
  • At least 7 years of experience in accounting, administration, and/or auditing, preferably in hotel environments with Shared Service Centers.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, financial regulations, finance, hotel operations, auditing, SSC environments, and compliance.
  • Accounting, Dominican fiscal regulations, IFRS, compliance.
  • Proficiency in office software and financial, maintenance, and hotel management systems.
  • Advanced level of English and Spanish.
